Chirp Cafe Live Music Series Presents: Monica Uhm
Monica Uhm is a NY-based singer-songwriter known for her intelligent lyrics, catchy tunes, and quirky live banter. Her lyrically-driven songs are self-dubbed “philosofolk” for the sinewy mix of the details of everyday living with esoteric meanderings. As a “serial-collaborist”, it was inevitable that her first full length studio album project would bring together over 20 musicians she’s met over the years. The album “Cowboys&Aliens” was released in April 2018 under the band moniker Trio Of Awesuhm. It has since been aired on over 100 radio stations in 20 countries, with reviewers consistently praising the timelessness and exceptional quality of the songwriting, musicianship, and production.
Monica continues to collaborate with wild abandon and thrive off of her ever-growing village of musicians and artists. She regularly performs both solo acoustic and full ensemble shows, and has appeared in the teeniest of coffee shops as well as some of the most storied venues in NYC. Her rule of thumb to #justshowup has enriched her with a treasure trove of happy accidents in life and in music.
